KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori on Thursday stressed the need for sustainable transport facilities for the socio-economic uplift of the country.
In his message on World Sustainable Transport Day, the Governor said that sustainable transport was the need of modern cities and the foundation of an eco-friendly future. A clean, safe and efficient transport system improves the quality of life of citizens.
“Expansion of green transport, electric vehicles and modern public transport network is the need of the hour in Sindh, especially Karachi, “ the Governor asserted.
He said the world-class transport policies must be prioritized to reduce carbon emissions and ease traffic pressure.
He emphasized that the public and private sectors must play a joint role in promoting sustainable transport.
