LAHORE: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday granted post-arrest bail to Dr Yasmin Rashid in a case of burning police vehicles during May 09 riots in Mughalpura.

The court heard the bail petition at Kot Lakhpat jail and allowed the bail to Dr. Yasmin subject to furnishing surety bonds worth rupees one lac and adjourned the hearing of Dr Yasmin’s bail petitions in three other cases till November 25.

Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel referred to the rule of consistency applied to other accused persons by the courts granting bail to them in similar cases.

The PTI Punjab president has already been convicted in four other May 9 cases including an attack on Shadman police station.

Meanwhile another court recorded statements of ten police personnel in a case of attack on GOR-I entrance gate during May 9 riots. A prosecutor told the court that 57 witnesses had testified in the case so far.

The court summoned more prosecution witnesses on November 25.
