RAWALPINDI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Thursday was barred from meeting with incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail for the sixth time since assuming his office.
Afridi, accompanied by senior PTI leadership, arrived at Adiala Jail to discuss provincial matters with Khan. However, police personnel stopped them near the prison despite the court order. After waiting for a few hours, the chief minister and his team returned without being allowed entry.
Speaking to the media, Afridi termed the recently registered First Information Report (FIR) by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against him as “a full toss as well as a no-ball,” adding: “Whatever they want me to do, if I were in a position to do it, it would cause more harm to them, and I do not want to harm them. We have decided to move towards quashing this FIR.”
