It is indeed a sad news that Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra has died. Widely known as human rights activist, poet and educationist Dr Zehra, her death has been widely mourned with President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari describing her passing as “an irreparable loss for Pakistan’s academic and literary circles”, pointing out that she dedicated her life to knowledge, research and service to humanity.
Despite old age, Dr Zehra’s mind was still quite fertile. In other words, hers was a mind that was creative, productive, and a reliable source of generating a lot original ideas. That she had highly enviable dexterity in Urdu language and literature is a fact.
She worked as a teacher for half a century during which she imparted knowledge to a very large number of students and guided their learning in a highly effective manner. No doubt, she was an outstanding teacher. May God Almighty always shower His blessings on the departed soul. Aameen.
