KARACHI: Gold and silver prices took a huge leap, hitting new highs on Monday -both in local and international markets - as buyers struggle with the bullion galloping trend, traders said.
Gold took strides by Rs5,400 and Rs4,629, reaching record high levels of Rs415,278 per tola and Rs356,033 per 10 grams, respectively, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
On the world market, gold bullion value hit historic height of $3,940 per ounce, surging by $54, while silver gained $1 to reach all-time high of $49 per ounce.
Domestic market also traded silver at record high of Rs4,949 per tola and Rs4,242 per 10 grams, up by Rs53 and Rs45, respectively, the jewellers association added.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those fixed by the association officially.
