LAHORE: Punjab Department of Tourism, Archaeology and Museums is ready to offer world-class museums and restored heritage for Tourists. Punjab, the land of vibrant culture, saints, Sufis, and centuries-old civilization, is all set to welcome tourists with a new face of history and heritage. From the mystic charm of Multan to the historic grandeur of Gujranwala and the global fame of Sialkot, the province is unfolding a vision where tradition meets technology.
Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta announced that the restoration of historical monuments and establishment of modern museums have been made a top priority. Punjab’s heritage will no longer remain hidden and it will shine as a source of pride for our people and an attraction for visitors from around the world, he remarked.
Dr Ehsan Bhutta revealed that the long-neglected Summit Minar, symbol of the 1974 OIC Summit, is being restored after decades. He further announced the launch of a Ranjeet Singh Museum in Gujranwala, a new cultural museum in Multan and a modern museum in Sialkot showcasing the city’s global identity in sports, leather, and surgical goods as well as its literary and historic legacy.
He appreciated the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Sialkot for providing a building and assured full collaboration of the Directorate of Archaeology, Punjab Small Industries Corporation, and PILAC to develop the museum into an international-standard attraction.
