‘Armed forces elevate their global standing following Marka-e-Haq’
LAHORE: Former National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua (Retd) has stated that Pakistan and its armed forces have significantly elevated their international standing following “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth), while India has become increasingly isolated on the world stage.
Janjua made these remarks while addressing a seminar titled “Pakistan’s Recent Diplomatic Achievements, Future Hopes and Future Defense Strategy” at a local hotel.
During his address, the former national security advisor emphasized Pakistan’s unique position in the Muslim world, stating that the country remains the only Islamic nuclear power within the Muslim Ummah, which adversaries view with apprehension. He noted that the United States has systematically eliminated leadership across the Muslim world and devastated nations including Iraq, Libya, Egypt, and Syria, while also conducting military operations against Iran.
Foreign Affairs expert Muhammad Mehdi, who also spoke at the event, characterized Pakistan’s ability to maintain parallel relations with both China and the United States as a significant diplomatic achievement. However, he cautioned that considerable work remains to be accomplished in this domain.
He expressed his concern that progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has not advanced at the desired pace.
Addressing economic concerns, he stressed that Pakistan must enhance its institutional capacity to improve its economic outlook. “There is a dire need for capacity building. No foreign investment has come yet,” he stated, adding that the Foreign Office, along with other institutions, must strengthen its capabilities to address emerging regional challenges.
Air Marshal Sajid Habib (Retd) highlighted the exemplary performance of Pakistan’s armed forces during Operation Banian Al-Marsoos. He provided detailed insights into the expertise and professional operations of the Pakistan Air Force, emphasizing their readiness and operational capabilities.
Rear Admiral N.A. Rizvi (Retd) underscored the strategic importance of Gwadar Port for Pakistan’s national interests. He assured that the Pakistan Navy maintains constant readiness to counter any threats, warning that adversaries would face severe consequences on the naval front.
The seminar, chaired by lawyer Safdar Ali Khan, brought together senior military officials and foreign policy experts to discuss Pakistan’s strategic position, diplomatic achievements, and future defense requirements in an evolving regional landscape.
