LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has intensified its crackdown against power defaulters, recovering over Rs93 million from 284 defaulters within a 24-hour period.

According to the Lesco officials, the recovery drive was carried out across various circles, with significant amounts recovered from defaulters in each region. Breakdown of recoveries included Northern Circle with Rs15.1 million from 26 defaulters, Eastern Circle with Rs14 million from 39 defaulters, Central Circle with Rs 28 million from 56 defaulters, Southern Circle with Rs 7.1 million from 23 defaulters, Nankana Circle with Rs 2.1 million from 22 defaulters, Sheikhupura Circle with Rs 10 million from 57 defaulters, Okara

Circle with Rs 8.1 million from 39 defaulters, and Kasur Circle with

Rs 5.1 million from 22 defaulters.

Meanwhile, the Lesco has initiated a region-wide open court system to resolve consumer complaints. The company is utilizing media and pamphlets to inform the public about this initiative.

As part of this effort, all sub-divisional officers (SDOs) are conducting daily open courts in their respective subdivisions, ensuring prompt resolution of consumer grievances. Senior officials are overseeing these open courts to guarantee their effectiveness.

Recently, Lesco’s open courts received a total of 1,014 complaints, with 1,006 being resolved on the spot.

This proactive approach demonstrates Lesco’s commitment to addressing consumer concerns and providing quality services.
