KAMPALA: The Ugandan shilling weakened on Wednesday on the back of increased demand for dollars from commercial banks and the energy sector, traders said.

At 1006 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,810/3,820, compared with Tuesday’s closing rate of 3,805/3,815.
