KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 55,277 tonnes of cargo comprising 15,822 tonnes of import cargo and 39,455 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 15,822 comprised of 15,822 tonnes of Containerized Cargo. The total export cargo of 39,455 tonnes comprised of 18,599 tonnes of containerized cargo, 5,484 tonnes of Cement, 12,922 of Clinkers & 2,450 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 3899 containers comprising of 1304 containers import and 2865 containers export were handled on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 370 of 20’s and 332 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 514 of 20’s and 194 of 40’s loaded containers while 207 of 20’s and 878 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours. Around, 06 ships namely Henrika, Al Shaffiah, MT Quetta, Tiger Tenacity, Safeen Prestige and Lara have berth at Karachi Port. Approximately, Elenore, Nord Stready, Ever Ursula, Henrika and Torm Strength have sailed out from Karachi Port.
About 08 cargoes, namely Xin Hong Kong, Ningbo Express, Bangkok Bride, Independent Spirit, HY Glory, MT Lahore, Northern Dexterity, Josco Dazhou were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
PQAberths were engaged by ten ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, three ships, MSC Aino, Bangkok Bridge and JiproNeftis left the port on Thursday morning and four more ships, Al-Maha, Global Unity, MSC Caledonia and Meghna Fortune are expected to sail on today in the afternoon(.)
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 144,235 tonnes, comprising 100,887 tonnes imports cargo and 43,348 tonnes export cargo,including containerized cargo carried in 3,716 Containers (1,723 TEUs Imports and 1,9934 TEUs export) was handled at the port .
There are six ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, four ships, Ilocos Confidence, Tiger Perseverance, Gas Athena and CCOL Asia and & another ship, Express Rome carrying Coal, Chemicals and Containers areexpected to take berths at FAP, EVTL, SSGC and QICT respectively on Thursday 13thOctober and two more containers ship ‘Bea Schulte’ and ‘APL Oregon’ are due to arrive at port Qasim on Friday, 14th October-2022.
