Quetta Gladiators have restricted Islamabad United to 134 runs in the ninth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Luke Ronchi played a magnificent hand of 43 runs for the United in the top order to keep the team’s innings on track after losing the toss.

The Gladiators got the first success in third over of the innings with just 13 runs on the score board when Chadwick Walton was caught Leg Before Wicket (LBW) off Anwar Ali’s delivery.

Rahat Ali followed his fellow pacer and provided another breakthrough to Quetta by sending Asif Ali back to the pavilion. He scored 6 runs

South African JP Duminy and New Zealand’s Ronchi buildup a little partnership and took the team’s total to 66 without losing further wickets. However, Hasan Khan had other plans for their schemes. Young Hasan picked up the crucial wicket of Ronchi when his team was in desperate need.

Skipper Misbah ul Haq, who is playing his first match of the tournament this year, departed after scoring 22 runs.

Faheem Ashraf played a brilliant inning of 21 before being run out by Mohammad Nawaz. The United made 134 runs on loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

John Hastings, Shane Watson, Hasan Khan, Rahat Ali and Anwar Ali picked a wicket each of the Gladiators.
