KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 152,190 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,326 tonnes of import cargo and 41,864 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 110,326 comprised of 57,568 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 7,999 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 1,300 tonnes of Flours, 10,849 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 32,610 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 41,864 tonnes comprised of 40,840 tonnes of containerized cargo and 1,024 tonnes of Bulk Cargo.

As many as, 7826 containers comprising of 3829 containers import and 3997 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1239 of 20’s and 1186 of 40’s loaded while 40 of 20’s and 89 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 759 of 20’s and 978 of 40’s loaded containers while 208 of 20’s and 537 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Wednesday.

Some 07 ships namely, Tarlan, Northern Guard, Uipearl, Xin Yan Tian, GFS Pride, Mu Main Song and Spica Harmony have berthed at Karachi Port.

Nearly, 04 ships namely, Seamax Westport, Southern Wolf, MT Quetta and Cimbria have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Around 08 cargoes, namely Singapore bridge, YM Excelence, Seaspan Chiba, Independent Sprit, MT Lahore, EF Emma, Kota Megah and Dolphin 21 were expected to reach at the port on the same day.

PORT QASIM

A total of 07 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 03 ships, Nefeli, Prestigious and MSC Anahita left the Port on Wednesday morning, while 02 more ships, Maersk Senang and Seaspan Chiba are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 177,799 tonnes, comprising 119,155 tonnes imports cargo and 58,644 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,266` Containers (4,054 TEUs Imports and 1,212 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 16 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 05 ships, Norstar Integrity, Zhi Xian 2, Johanna Oldendorff, Seapan Chiba and MSC Sarya& three more ships, Irenes Ray, CMA CGM Pemba and Al-Dayyan carrying, Gas oil, Cranes, Coal, Containers and LNG are expected to take berths at FOTCO, FAP, PIBT, QICT and EETL Wednesday, 8th June-2022.
