LONDON: Russia struck and disabled Ukraine's Starokostiantyniv military air base with long-range high-precision weapons, Russia's defence ministry said on Sunday.

"The Russia armed forces continue to strike the military infrastructure of Ukraine," Russian defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"On the morning of March 6, strikes were carried out by high-precision long-range weapons. The Ukrainian air force base near Starokostiantyniv was disabled."

He said a Ukrainian-controlled S-300 missile system had also been destroyed by Russian rocket forces. He said Russia had downed 10 Ukrainian planes and helicopters over the past 24 hours.

How would the No Fly Zone have helped in this case ? The purpose of No-Fly, is to get planes from Eastern EU, to fly from Western UKR The purpose is NOT to enforce a No-Fly - as there is NOT much flying, in UKR .- only low flying choppers ! The aim is to use the Aircraft,to bomb, the Russian convoy ! The logic being that the pre-emptive Russian raids, took out a large number of UKR MIgs and Sukhois, and so,those need to be replaced. Migs for Migs and SUKs for SUKs ! UKR is not planning dogfights over UKR airspace ! THE AIM IS TO BOMB THE CONVOYS AND ALSO,POSSIBLY AIR RAIDS INTO RUSSIA AND BELARUS ! WHAT WILL PUTIN DO - WHEN THE UKR AIR FORCE GOES INTO RUSSIA AND BELARUS - IS THE KEY QUESTION ! dindooohindoo
