KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 166,343 tonnes of cargo comprising 125,414 tonnes of import cargo and 40,929 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 125,414 comprised of 45,058 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 4,945 tonnes of Canola, 7,358 tonnes of Wheat, 3,875 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds and 64,178 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 40,929 tonnes comprised of 19,527 tonnes of containerized cargo, 608 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 2,740 tonnes of Cement, 17,154 tonnes of Clinkers and 900 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 5222 containers comprising of 3541 containers import and 1681 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 581 of 20’s and 1226 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 254 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 310 of 20’s and 264 of 40’s loaded containers while 03 of 20’s and 420 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were 06 ships namely, Tina Too, Flc Harmony, Oel Kedarnath, Liberty Peace, Blue Akihabara and Kota Padang have berth at Karachi Port.

Nearly 06 ships namely, Alpine Persefone, Kota Naluri, Thorswind, Lian Yang Hu, Trf Kirkenes and Liberty Peace have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Some 12 cargoes namely, Frona, Al Shaffiah, MT Quetta, Ever Dainty, Star Cleo, Grace, DM Jade, Jo Redwood, BW Krongborg, Al Salam II, Hyundai Bangkok and Lorentzos were expected to arrive on the same day.

PORT QASIM

Meanwhile two more ships, MSC Hina and Al-Safliya carrying Containers and Natural gas also arrived at outer anchorage of the Port on Wednesday (today) morning.

PQA berths were engaged by 13 ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, two ships, Container ship ‘Seago Piraeus’ and Bulk cargo carrier ‘Nord Bering’ left the port on Wednesday morning, while two more ships, Maersk Hartford and Al-Safliya are expected to sail from QICT and MW-1 on today in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput of 191,109, tonnes, comprising 164,453 tonnes imports cargo and 26,656 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,55 9Containers (1,989 TEUs Imports and 1,568 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours .

There are 08 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them four ships, MSC Hina, Asphalt Express, Serene Theodora and Al-Safliya scheduled to load/offload Containers, Bitumen, Coal and LNG are expected to take berths QICT, MW-1, PIBT and EETL on Wednesday, 29th December, while three more Container ships, CMA CGM Butterfly, Maersk Nile and MSC Emily are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, 30th December-2021.
