ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet, which is scheduled to meet today (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, will discuss the country's economic and political issues.
Well-informed sources told Business Recorder that the cabinet will also discuss regional issues including situation in Afghanistan and its economic woes.
The cabinet will applaud the services of renowned scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, who passed away on October 9, 2021.
The cabinet will discuss the situation in Harnai, Balochistan, where several people died and were injured due to an earthquake. The cabinet will also consider and approve various proposals/summaries of ministries regarding policy decisions and appointments.
It is expected the cabinet will approve Chairman Policy Board of the SECP. The names of Khalid Mirza, Sadiq Saeed, and Mehmood Mandviwala are expected to be considered for this post.
The cabinet will also ratify the minutes of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), the Cabinet Committee on Energy, and the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases.
