GILGIT: Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafeez-Ur-Rehman was briefed Saturday regarding ongoing tree plantation in the area and the step taken to achieve the targeted goals from the endeavor.
He was told that Secretary Forest, Asifullah Khan and Secretary Information, Fida Hussain participated in trees plantation activity as part of the monitoring of the campaign.
Forest Nurseries whether already established previously or set up temporarily to facilitate people are witnessing a hustle and bustle following the plantation began, CM was informed.
It was said that public response towards the campaign is very encouraging and if things go well the achievements would be beyond our expectations and targets.
Speaking on the occasion, CM praised the commitment of forest department and directed to further speed up their efforts to make the campaign a success.
Meanwhile, Secretary Forest Department Asifullah directed concerned officials to keep in close touch with the community and partners of the campaign and learn needs of people providing trees in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure.
A complaint cell was also set up to come to know about public issues.
