KARACHI: President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Ghazanfar Bilour has hailed a statement of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue, Haroon Akhtar Khan assuring full government support to Thar coal projects for their timely completion.
Bilour said that with completion of the Thar coal projects, the country would become self-sufficient in power sector, and that industry and trade would be relieved of the high power tariff.
He said that in the past, no effort was made towards coal-fired power projects to overcome shortage of energy. The present government's interest and pursuance for earliest completion of the Thar Coal project was commendable, he said.
The FPCCI President said that the power generation from the Thar coal projects would also help us in saving foreign exchange of the country, being spent on import of fuel.
'FPCCI assures government to extend full support in implementation of all the projects aimed at boosting of our economy,' he said.
