JAKARTA: Indonesian Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi said on Thursday state food procurement agency, Bulog, had been ordered to import rice for its reserves, but did not share the timing of the planned shipments.
Separately, presentation material the from economic ministry showed that the government planned to import 500,000 tonnes of rice for reserves, and an additional 500,000 tonnes if needed by Bulog.
Lutfi did not confirm the size of the imports.
