KP Govt banned sale, import of China salt

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Government has immediately imposed ban on the sale, manufacturing and import of Aginomoto (China salt) in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court.

In this regard Chief Secretary KP Muhammad Azam Khan has issued directives to the Administrative Heads of all the Districts to immediately initiate action against the manufacturing, sale and import of Aginumoto (China salt) in their jurisdiction.

It further said that a three-day campaign in this regard should be carried out in each corner of the province, ensuring the removal of the said salt from the market as well as creating awareness in the society about the hazardous effects of the China salt.

The Chief Secretary also instructed the Additional Chief Secretary FATA to carry out a similar campaign in all the Agencies of FATA through Political Agents. It also instructed the concerned authorities to take stern action against those violating the Apex court order and bring them to the law.

It is to mentioned here that the Supreme Court had banned the manufacturing, Sale and import of Aginomoto after disposing off a suo moto case.
