ECP contradicts statement of Justice (R) Wajihuddin

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday clarified the statement of Justice (R) Wajihuddin, which he gave in the media regarding appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

Talking to media, spokesman of ECP Haroon Khan said the head of “Aam Log Itehad Party” Justice (R) Wajih-u-Din’s allegation on appointment of CEC was not based on facts and actual situation.

He said the CEC was appointed with the consensus of all political parties and in a transparent manner.

He said the appointment of CEC was made under article 213 of the Constitution.
