Ban on cultivation of cotton before April 1

LAHORE: There is a complete ban on the cultivation of cotton in the province before the start of April.

Punjab agriculture department sources said this here on Wednesday. Sources said that attack chances of pink bollworm on early sown cotton increases keeping in view this possibility and in accordancwe with the recommedations of agricultural scientists and experts the department has taken a decision of ban on early sown cotton.

Sources further said that field teams have been mobilized to counter the attack of white fly and pink bollworm.
