One of Pakistan’s largest tech conferences, Momentum Pakistan 2018, continued to maintain the charm on its second day too with some more guests, amazing speakers and award distributions.

The two-day conference held at Karachi’s Expo Center started on February 19. In these two days, Momentum Pakistan 2018 successfully attracted more than 300 startups, great entrepreneurs, incubators and investors. The conference was not only attended by nationals but also by international entrepreneurs, aiming to invest in Pakistani startups and providing them a platform they need.

The technological innovations continued and people demonstrated their exceptional and innovative works. Robots, smart e-commerce, smart garbage management, AI infused chatbots, minion robots, smart child therapy and home automation were among the many new ideas.

“We want kids to learn robotics so that when they grow up they make something big, rather than making normal drones,” said Qasim Zahid, COO of DIY Geeks.

Not only tech, the conference also contained educational startups such as AZ Corp Entertainment that provided edutainment comic books for children that highlight the social issues in our society and describes how to overcome them. Similarly, ‘Next Stop Poland’ was there for all those aspiring students seeking to study abroad.

“We are here to help students get degrees,” explained Klaudia Lewo?czyk, co-founder of Next Stop Poland.

Startups companies including LearnOBots, Street Krick, GoLootlo, Automate, along with the renowned ones such as Dell, Abacus, Arfa Karim Foundation, Sheops, Facebook, Google and more, all marked their presence.

“No matter how the event is, we need to start somewhere. Events like these should happen more, as they provide a platform for interaction," said Jahanzaib Shafi, manager international marketing of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

Different speakers and panels were again scheduled to give inspirational speeches on topics including future of IoT (Internet of Things) in Pakistan, digital education and entrepreneurship, future of mobile web etc.

Mike Ashley Cedric, Cloud Evangelist from IBM said, “The event is well-managed and informative for startups. Big companies like us and here to help them grow.”

Syed Mustafa Kamal, a senior politician and founder of Pak Sarzameen Party, also attended the event, making it more glorious. The event ended with chief guest, ex-CEO of Engro, Asad Umer’s keynote. Achievement and startup awards were also presented by Umer and Governor Sindh followed by closing remarks.

“You have to find the hero within you. Step up and change yourself before you change the society,” said Ubaid Ismail, AZ Corp Entertainment Social Media Manager.
