With only a day remaining for Pakistan Super League (PSL) to kick off, Peshawar Zalmi has faced a major blow as their player, Bangladesh’s superstar all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, has withdrawn from PSL 2018 due to a hand injury.

As per details, the top ranked all-rounder of all three formats of the game sustained a hand injury, due to which he will not be available for the tournament.

Sabbir Rahman, Bangladesh international, has now joined Peshawar Zalmi as partial cover for Shakib, PSL’s official tweeted.

Shakib played a key role for Zalmi in the last season and went on to win the title in Lahore. With the season 3 of the League kicking off on February 22, all the teams are gearing up for the matches, while Zalmi eyeing to defend the title.

PSL season 3 will begin on Thursday with an opening ceremony, following a match between the defending Champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Multan Sultans.

All six teams have reached Dubai for the tournament, while their foreign players have also joined them.
