LAHORE: The Lahore administration on Tuesday fixed the price of imported sugar at Rs83.5 per kg in the city with immediate effect. In this connection, District Commissioner Lahore, Mudassar Riaz Malik issued a notification after receiving the instructions from the director general of industries, prices, weights, and measures.
It is said that the imported sugar should not be sold to traders on a commercial basis or wholesalers while retailers will keep a record of sales of the imported sugar. It also directed the retailers to display their price at a prominent place and they should not withhold its sale to the general public.
While commenting on the fixation of the price, the DC said that the imported sugar will only be supplied to the retailers and added that it will also available in Sahulat Bazaars at Rs81.5 per kg. He directed all the price control magistrates to implement the new price immediately.
