HYDERABAD: Chief Commissioner Income Tax (Inland Revenue) Tauqeer Ahmed Memon said that he is a citizen of Hyderabad and is committed to resolve issues of business community.

He was addressing at a reception organised by the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry in the conference hall of Chamber, here at Hyderabad. Addressing business community Tauqeer Ahmed Memon said that members of business community should get themselves registered in Income Tax so that income tax network could be increased.

He said that the more tax collected the more development projects would be started. He said that he believed in resolving issues with the support of Chamber. Clarifying about the fixing of rates of properties Tauqeer said that he did not know that how such high rates of properties had been fixed in Hyderabad and added that FBR had refixed the property rates.

He said that he would send those recommendations to chamber, rates would be finalised with consultation of chamber and would send them to the concerned authority for implementation.

Earlier the President Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry Saleemuddin Qureshi in his welcome address said that businessmen and industrialists were the backbone of the country’s economy. He said that chamber always cooperate with FBR for federal tax.

He appealed to the government of Pakistan to make a simple tax system for businessmen and industrialists where the precious time of businessmen and the government could not be wasted. He demanded the FBR for giving concessions to businessmen and industrialists in Income tax and sales tax and should not be unnecessary strict with them for the implementation of the rules so that Hyderabad could be developed again in trade and business as it was in the past.

Convener Sub-committee FBR Haji Mohammed Yaqoob, Senior Vice President Mohammed Altaf Memon, former presidents Daulat Ram Lohana, Mohammed Akram Ansari, Dr Abdul Rahman Rind Commissioner withholding, Abdul Hafeez Nizamani Commissioner zone-I, Azhar Irum Commissioner zone-II, Chairman Site Association Pervez Faheem Noor Wala, members of executive committee and office bearers of different markets associations were also present at the occasion.
