Recent series of events in the Industrial hub of Pakistan which include, two blasts, arrest of retired Captain Safdar, opposition rally and report about IGP police abduction, made rounds in media across the continent, however, Indian media gave it their own angle by declaring it a ‘Civil war in Pakistan’.

Several media outlets in India including, Zee News English, CNN News18, India Narrative, The International Herald and more termed the recent events broke out civil war in the port city.

India Narrative citing social media reports wrote: “The city has been in turmoil with tension running high not just between Pakistan’s numerous political parties but also between the Sindh police and the Pakistani Army.”

Meanwhile, The International Herald took a step even further sharing an old video on twitter with a caption: “BREAKING : Civil war in Pakistan. Reported clashes between Karachi Police & Pak Army.”

Times now shared the same video with caption: "Massive unrest in Karachi, Sindh as protest against Pakistan’s army chief is underway."

Moreover, Zee News English quoted the International Herald reporting, “10 Karachi police officers were killed in clashes that broke out in the financial capital of Pakistan. It also claimed that a ‘civil war’ has broken out following the violent clashes between police and the Army.”

Furthermore, CNN News18 shared two clips of their packages on the micro blogging site over the current situation of Karachi with a caption: “#ImranUnderSeige - Civil War breaks out in Pakistan. Clashes between Sindh Police and Pakistan Army. Chorus for Imran Khan’s ouster grows. 4 Opposition Parties Join forces against the Imran Khan government.”

Journalist Minhaz Merchant reported that Pak army takes over Karachi’s police stations as clashes break out between police and army in Sindh following bomb attack that kills 5. Casualties could mount amid civil strife against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

An advocate of Supreme Court of India, Prashant Patel Umrao, also share his views on Karachi situation on Twitter which reads: Civil War like situation in Pakistan. Army-Police clash in Karanchi, many officers are died. Maximum Police Officers from Sindh have went on Leave. They are demanding Sindhu Desh. Imran has ordered to play Pak National songs on Radio.

Here are some reactions by Pakistani users over Indian media coverage of Karachi situation:

.

The social site Twitter refused to take action against Indian fake news machine, as their moderators are all based in India and highly infiltrated by ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bhakts.

On the other hand, Facebook also refused to take down hateful content by Indian far right politicians, as they too operate from the neighboring country.
