CHICAGO: CBOT soyabean futures rose on Monday as dry weather in Brazil boosted prospects for US supplies on the export market, traders said.
Soyameal futures also were firm, with the most-active contract hitting its highest on a continuous basis since July 2019 during Monday's session.
Soyaoil weakened for the third day in a row.
The benchmark Chicago Board of Trade November soyabean futures contract rose above its 10-day moving average.
The US Agriculture Department reported on Monday morning that weekly soyabean export inspections were 2.175 million tonnes, near the high end of market forecasts that ranged from 1.2 million to 2.2 million tonnes.
Analysts' were expecting a separate USDA report on Monday afternoon to show that US soyabean harvest was 79% complete as of Oct. 18, up 18 percentage points from a week earlier.
Brazilian farmers had sowed 7.9% of the estimated soya area through Oct. 15, the slowest pace in a decade as drought made planting riskier, consultancy AgRural said.
