Sindh Police tweets again on Safdar's arrest

(Karachi) Sindh Police have again tweeted regarding arrest of PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law capt (retd) Safdar, saying that the arrest was done according to law and investigation will be impartial.

It added that due process will be followed in all respect.

Earlier today, Sindh Police deleted its statement on twitter, claiming it arrested PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law capt (retd) Safdar in accordance with the law.

As per details, the statement by Sindh Police was tweeted at about 12:59 pm. "It stated, "The arrest of Captain (r) Safdar was done according to law and the investigation will be impartial and on merit." However, the tweet now stands deleted.

Meanwhile, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has decided she will not file bail petition after being nominated in the case related to violating sanctity of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum.

Talking to media, PML-N lawyers said that Maryam Nawaz has termed the FIR registered against the party leaders as fake and demanded the government to take it back.

They maintained that it is a fake and bogus case based on malafide intention.The PML-N lawyers mentioned that only the custodian of the Quaid’s mausoleum can become complainant in the case.

They alleged that Sindh police was forced to arrest Safdar Awan. Maryam Nawaz is ready to be arrested in the case, they stated.

Earlier today, Sindh Police nabbed Capt (R) Safdar from a hotel in Karachi. The arrest was reported to be in a case registered against him for chanting political slogans in the vicinity of the Mazar-e-Quaid.

The police registered a case against PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, Capt (R) Safdar, and 200 others at the Brigade Police Station in Karachi for alleged desecration of Mazar-e-Quaid.
