KARACHI: The leading national and multi-national food-enterprises operating in Pakistan have formed Pakistan Association of Food Industries (PAFI) to officially represent the food-industry of Pakistan.

PAFI has the highest-level representation of major member organizations, including EBM, Nestle, Unilever, Shan Foods, Friesland Campina, Qarshi Industries, Youngs, Upfield, National Foods Limited (NFL), Tapal Tea, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Dawn Bread, K&Ns and many more. PAFI works under skilled & dynamic leadership of its Chairperson Dr. Zeelaf Munir, Managing Director of English Biscuit Manufacture.

On the occasion of this World Food Day, all members of PAFI have pledged their individual and collective efforts to the vision of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to Grow, Nourish, Sustain, Together.

Speaking about the pledge, Irfan Hafeez Malik the Secretary General of PAFI said that it is a matter of great pride for our newly formed association to pledge our commitments to goals, which have global impact on the food situation. He said that after this disruption by the pandemic, the food businesses are required to be more actively invested in sustainable food systems and to develop, adapt and share technologies. Private sector food-related businesses and retailers need to make sustainable food options attractive, available and affordable.
