KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday extended the interim bail of Syed Qaim Ali Shah, a former chief minister of Sindh, till December 1, 2020 in an alleged land purchase at higher than the market value case.
An SHC bench sought progress report in the inquiry against Shah, and a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told the court that a reference has been filed. However, a supplementary inquiry is underway in this case.
The NAB prosecutor stated that Qaim Ali Shah gave the approval for the purchase of land as chief minister of Sindh.
The court, while seeking report about progress in the inquiry, extended Shah's interim bail till December 1.
Meanwhile, the SHC division bench also extended till November 12, 2020 interim bail of Manzoor Wassan, a former Sindh minister, in an "assets beyond means" case.
The NAB prosecutor told the court that inquiry against Wassan had been completed, and its details forwarded to the NAB headquarters.
The prosecutor stated that the headquarters raised some objections over the inquiry report which were being looked into.
The court sought report of investigations against Wassan so far and extended his interim bail till November 12.
