ISLAMABAD: Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, the spokesman for the Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has said that narrative of the country shall revolve around the problems faced by the people and measures to solve them but unfortunately due to this auto-pilot government, the narrative of the government is of political victimisation.

He said this while addressing a press conference at the PPP media office, Islamabad, with Nazir Dhoki, here on Tuesday. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that people were crying under the burden of price hike.

Every food item from wheat to sugar, and tomato to cooking oil, have become out of the reach of people. He said that a middle-class person was unable to pay the fees of their children.

The tariff of electricity and gas has shot up, and people can no more afford these necessities of life, he said. He said that a person who had resigned from one position could run a mega project such as China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said that the people had the right to know why he resigned or was forced to resign. He said that the CPEC was not the priority of this government because if it were so, then the government should have tabled this ordinance to make it an act of parliament. The government did not display seriousness on the CPEC, and if legislation was done for the FATF, then why not on CPEC, he asked.

He said that if the government brought legislation then the opposition would have to see it first, and then it would take decision on the issue. He said that the PPP would not accept any head of the CPEC whose credibility had become suspicious.

Senator Khokhar said that the PPP would not accept any "umpire", and believed only in supremacy of the law and the constitution. He said that the government was trying its best to have a quarrel between institutions and the opposition but would fail miserably.

The government has the narrative that the opposition is strengthening Indian narrative, whereas the Army chief has very candidly said that constructive criticism is good for the system. The world recognises the parliamentary system and the PPP wants supremacy of constitution and the parliament, he said.

He said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would lead a rally from Lala Musa to Gujranwala, and the public gathering would be a success in Gujranwala. Then on 18th, the PDM will have a public gathering in Karachi, and then in Quetta, he said.

Senator Khokhar said that by involving the Tiger Force, the prime minister wanted to create "anarchy" in the country. He said that at the moment no country in the word trusted Pakistan and "we have become lonely in the comity of nations". He said that the PDM was going to people to present its case. He said that no one should believe in the disinformation, the government was spreading on the issue of resignations from the parliament, because "we will cross the bridge, when the time will come".

He said that peaceful protests were the right of every citizen. He concluded that the government would be no more, way before the resignations. He said that the political discourse should revolve around the problems of the common man. "But the current government has tried to push the debate towards political revenge," he said.

He said that at present, flour was available at Rs 1,400 per 20kg, sugar at Rs 110 per kg and ghee had reached Rs 250 per kg, and tomato Rs 180 per kg. He said that pulse mash also reached Rs 250 per kg and no vegetable was available for less than Rs 100.

Senator Khokhar said that the PPP was clear on resignations; "don't listen to the government's misinformation". "When time comes for resignations, we will also give, but the government will end before the time for for resignations will come," Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar claimed.

He said, while posing question, where are the millions of jobs and the homes?

The spokesman said that Bilawal would lead a rally from Lala Musa to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)'s Gujranwala rally.

He said that the PDM meeting would be the most successful, followed by a meeting in Karachi on October 18, and then in Quetta. He claimed that at present, an attempt was being made to spread "anarchy" by handing over the country to the "Tiger Force".
