KARACHI: The monsoon rainy system of a good intensity is expected to continue penetrating into Sindh, the Met Office said on Tuesday.

Under an influence of the weather system, it said, a widespread rain/thundershower with a few heavy to very heavy falls are likely in all districts of Sindh till August 27.

In the next 24 hours: Rain-wind-thundershowers are expected in most districts of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Heavy falls are also expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. More, rain-thundershowers are expected in Sindh and Eastern Balochistan during the period.

In the past 24 hours: Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershowers occurred in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and eastern Balochistan.

Maximum amount of rainfall was recorded in Hyderabad (City 139 mm, Airport 128 mm), Thatta 134 mm, Mirpur Khas 116 mm, and Mithi 113 mm.

Karachi: Gulshan-e-Hadid 163 mm, Faisal Base 38 mm, Landhi 95 mm, Old Airport 89 mm, Saddar 88 mm, University Road 86 mm, Saadi Town 81 mm, Nazimabad 78 mm, Jinnah Terminal 76 mm, Masroor Base 69 mm, North Karachi 54 mm, Surjani 46 mm, Kemari 22 mm.

Tando Jam 104 mm, Chhor 100 mm, Badin 96 mm, Dadu 93 mm, Pad Aidan mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 47 mm.

Islamabad: Zero Point 99 mm, Saidpur 45 mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 87 mm, Chakla 34 mm), Sialkot (City 18 mm), Rahim Yar Khan 10 mm, Murree 8 mm. Balakot 11 mm, Panjgur 13 mm, Khuzdar mm 8. Highest temperature was witnessed in Nokkundi 43 degrees Celsius, Dalbandin Sibbi, Bunji and D.I.Khan 41 degrees Celsius, each.
