ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court on Tuesday summoned former chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja and 18 others accused in the BISP corruption reference on September 17. The Accountability Court judge, Muhammad Bashir, while hearing the case, also summoned medical reports of former BISP chairperson after her counsel told the court that his client was ill and undergoing treatment in the United States.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against Farzana Raja, a former BISP chairperson and others for causing a Rs1.5 billion loss to the national exchequer. The NAB Chairperson former Justice Javed Iqbal, approved the reference against the PPP leader on December 3rd, 2019.
