Bill Gates lauds Pakistan Army for supporting polio drive campaign, success against COVID-19

Microsoft Founder and Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates has reiterated his foundation's commitment of supporting Pakistan in its goal of ending polio and improving health for every child.
In a tweet, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said that Gates and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a telephonic conversation on Saturday.
During their phone call, Gates appreciated the Pakistan Army for supporting government efforts to curb coronavirus. The COAS told him that all credit goes to grassroots workers including mobile teams, Law Enforcement Agencies and healthcare representatives.
The Microsoft founder also lauded Pakistan’s success against coronavirus despite constraints resources. The army chief said that success against coronavirus has been due to a true national response executed through the mechanism of the National Coordination Committee which allowed optimization of resources.
