FPCCI rejects handing over of taxpayers' monitoring to LTU
PESHAWAR: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) has rejected the handover of the monitoring of 150 taxpayers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Large Tax Units (LTUs) Islamabad and has demanded withdrawal of the decision.
In a letter written in the name of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Peshawar, the Coordinator FPCCI for KP Sartaj Ahmed Khan has termed the jurisdiction of the order as unfair, illogical, indiscriminative and negation of the FBR's own policies and regulations.
He said the jurisdiction order has been issued whether consulting the apex trade body. The letter said that being an apex trade body, representing 219 trade bodies 58 chambers of commerce & industries and large number of associations reject the jurisdiction of the Commissioner Inland Revenue and Commissioner Inland Revenue at Large Tax Units Islamabad.
He has called for the halt to jurisdiction order for the time being, reexamination of the context of the order as well as the annexed list containing names of the taxpayers once the criteria is subjected to same is defined, described and illustrated with mutual consensus.
