Punjab cuts down school curriculum for 2021 by 50%

  • The department said the decision was taken in light of the time lost by students during the coronavirus pandemic.
Published August 10, 2020

The Government of Punjab announced its decision on Monday to reduce the school curriculum by 50%.

The provincial education department said that the syllabus will be cut down of grades one to 10. The department said the decision was taken in light of the time lost by students during the coronavirus pandemic.

It has directed all schools to reduce subjects from their syllabuses in such a way that only important topics are left. The new syllabus will be completed during September 2020 to February 2021, the department added.

Last week, the government had announced that it will reopen all education institutions on September 15.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus lockdown in Punjab has also been lifted. This means all business sectors, excluding marriage halls and educational institutions, will be allowed to operate from today.

All kinds of public transport have also been allowed to operate.
