Coronavirus pandemic: 14 deaths, 842 new cases reported in 24 hours across country

(Karachi) At least 14 deaths have been reported while 842 new coronavirus cases surfaced during 24 hours across the country.

According to government's health portal, the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country has reached 283,484. The total number of fatalities due to the disease is 6,068 while recoveries tally is 259,604.

Similarly, 801 corona patients are in critical condition while 24, 366 tests have been conducted. The total number of tests is 2,103,699.

The highest number of cases have been reported in Sindh with 123, 246 cases followed by Punjab with 94,223 corona patients. Similarly, 34,539 cases surface in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 11,835 in Balochistan, 15,214 in Islamabad, 2,301 Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,129 in Azad Kashmir.

Coronavirus cases are on the decline in the country. The government claimed that it managed to control the pandemic and eased lockdown and restrictions to support economy.

Earlier, an alarming increase in number of Covid-19 cases was witnessed in the country. In June, Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the people and and business community of taking a strict action for violating the standard operations procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to stem the spread of Covid-19.
