The Government of Punjab announced on Wednesday that all educational institutions across the province will be reopened on September 15.

Punjab Education Minister and PTI MPA Dr Murad Raas said that September 15 is a tentative date depending on the coronavirus situation in Punjab. He further said the Standard Operating Procedures will be followed in schools when they reopen and will be conveyed to public and private stakeholders.

Punjab has confirmed 93,571 coronavirus cases so far. The death toll stands at 2,157. On Monday, the government also lifted the curfew which was scheduled to be ended today.

The provincial government said the decision was taken after encouraging results from smart samples collected from cattle markets.
