KARACHI: We are fighting Covid-19 at one front, polio on the other front and the spread of deadly blood disorder thalassemia at the forefront in the country said Ateeq Ur Rehman CSR, CSI activist for eradication of thalassemia from Pakistan.
In any case, we have to eradicate thalassemia from Pakistan for which the government should seriously take some major steps urgently, which was & are missing in the past. He added that study and research reveals that Covid-19 is also a kind of blood disorder. Blood clotting is one of the severe complications arising from a SARS-CoV-2 infection, suggesting that it's not just a lung disease.
According to British Heart Foundation coronavirus has been found to increase the risk of blood clotting, leading to cardiovascular problems and organ failure in some patients.
