Punjab reports 206 new infections, nine deaths

Punjab's coronavirus tally has reached 92,279 after the province reported 206 new infections.

In the past 24 hours, the province 7,014 tests out of which 206 came out positive. Punjab's testing capacity stands at 17,320, while the province has conducted 706,650 so far. With 47,158 cases detected so far, Lahore has reported the highest number of cases in the province.

Punjab also reported nine more deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 2,125. Meanwhile, five patients also recovered from the novel virus taking the total number of recoveries to 81265.

The Punjab government has also decided to enforce smart lockdown on the occasion of Eid ul Azha in order to curb the spread of the virus.
