South Korean's KFA said to pass in 68,000 T corn tender
- This was followed closely by other offers of $196.64, $196.75 and $196.82 all per tonne c&f.
HAMBURG: The Korea Feed Association (KFA) is believed to have rejected all offers and made no purchase in an international tender on Wednesday to buy up to 68,000 tonnes of corn, European traders said.
Prices were regarded as too high. The tender sought corn sourced from either South America or South Africa.
Lowest price offered was said to be $196.52 a tonne c&f for 66,000 tonnes.
This was followed closely by other offers of $196.64, $196.75 and $196.82 all per tonne c&f.
Shipment was sought between Nov. 1-20 if from South America or between Nov. 11-30 if from South Africa.
South Korea's largest animal feed maker, Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI), purchased an estimated 134,000 tonnes of corn in an international tender on Tuesday at $190.93 a tonne c&f and $193.49 a tonne c&f for November arrival in South Korea.
Chicago corn futures fell on Tuesday on better-than-expected US crop conditions and favourable US weather.
