ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's coronavirus tally has reached 266,647 with 5,661 deaths and 208,030 recoveries, federal and provincial authorities latest Covid-19 data released here on Tuesday said.

With 253 new cases, total coronavirus cases in Punjab have reached 90,444, Sindh reported 551 new cases, which took the provincial tally to 114,104, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reported 157 new Covid-19 cases, taking the provincial total to 32,243, and five new cases were reported in Balochistan, which took provincial total to 11,441. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) reported 26 new Covid-19 cases, which took the ICT's total to 14,625, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) reported 15 new Covid-19 cases taking the tally to 1,937, and Gilgit-Baltistan reported 19 additional coronavirus cases, which took the provincial tally to 1,868.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, the province reported 253 new Covid-19 cases taking the provincial total to 90,444. The province has reported less than 300 cases for the first time since May 22. It has also reported seven additional fatalities taking the death toll to 2,090. More than 66,000 people have recovered from the virus in the province.

According to the PDMA Punjab, 656,104 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Punjab till date. The current testing capacity in the province stands at 17,320, and 332 people have recovered from the Covid-19 in Punjab during the last 24 hours. Sindh has reported 551 coronavirus cases and 22 deaths during the past 24 hours, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

In a statement, he said 6,676 tests were carried out during this period. With the new cases, the provincial total has risen to 114,104, while the death toll has risen to 2,041. He added that 17,766 patients were currently under treatment. The KP Health Department has reported 157 new Covid-19 cases taking the total 32,243, while five more people have died of the virus, taking the total to 1,147, and 361 more patients have recovered taking the tally to 25,367.

According to KP health department, at present, the total active cases in the province are 5,729. Directorate General Health Balochistan has reported five new cases of the coronavirus in Balochistan, taking the provincial tally to 11,441.

This is Balochistan's lowest daily increase in infections since April 13, when one case was detected. The province also registered one more fatality, taking its overall death toll from the virus to 133.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SPAM) on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza, while appreciating the ICT administration for tackling Covid-19 in the federal capital has said that the ICT admin has done wonders in controlling COVID-19. In a tweet Mirza said that on 13 June 4,136 tests and 771 positive cases were reported in Islamabad, while on July 20, just 26 cases were reported, while carrying out 1,452 tests, which [was] a 95 percent decline.
