Over 2500 policemen infected with COVID-19 in Sindh

Sindh police has said that 155 police officials contracted the novel coronavirus in the last two days.

According to the Sindh Police spokesperson, 2,515 officials have been infected with the coronavirus so far. The spokesperson continued that 16 police officials have passed away from the virus.

The spokesperson further said that 906 officers have also recovered from the virus, local media reported. 1,593 cops are currently under treatment, the spokesperson added.

Sindh has reported 110068 infections and 1922 deaths. The provincial government on Thursday extended the smart lockdown till August 15.

During the smart lockdown, pillion riding and all sorts of public transport, including the operation of ride-hailing services are suspended. Only one person per household can leave to buy food or medicine. Grocery stores and pharmacies are allowed to remain open.
