ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has expanded the scope of investigation against Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, and decided to question him for his alleged role in the misappropriation of Hajj funds. Sources told that the NAB Rawalpindi had decided to inquire into alleged irregularities in Hajj advertising campaign.

The NAB has summoned a record of all the advertisements given for Hajj applications in the last two years, they told, adding that the NAB would also collect the record from the advertising agencies and the Press Information Department (PID). They said after receiving a complaint of irregularities in Hajj campaign, the bureau has decided to scrutinize the Hajj advertising campaign.

The NAB chairman former Justice Javed Iqbal had earlier authorised conducting verification of a complaint regarding power abuse, against the minister over his alleged involvement in renting out a government building to his business partner.
