Sindh CM criticizes Ali Zaidi’s ‘irresponsible behaviour’ over JIT reports

  • Zaidi said someone came to his house on a motorcycle and gave him the 'original' JIT report.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah lambasted on Wednesday Minister for Shipping and Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi calling his behavior 'irresponsible' regarding the Joint Investigation Report (JIT) on Uzair Baloch.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad following his appearance before NAB in the Roshan Sindh Programme case, the CM questioned how the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader had obtained the original report.

Scoffing at the manner in which Zaidi received the report, Shah said the minister revealed someone came to his house on a motorcycle and gave him that report. "If he had said that some responsible man gave it to him and now he was revealing it, it might have made sense," the CM said.

Shah continued that Zaidi claimed the JIT report had six signatures even though there are seven needed. It does not suit a federal minister, an MNA, to be acting in such an irresponsible manner, the chief minister said.

He said he has no problem with the inquiry taking place, adding that the federal government has the right to conduct this inquiry.

On Monday, the Sindh government made public the JIT reports of Baloch, the Baldia factory fire incident and former chairman of the Fishermen Cooperative Society Nisar Morai. Following this, the shipping minister in a presser claimed that the JIT report uploaded on the website was different than the original.
