MADRID: Spanish gross public debt rose slightly in December, climbing by 5.9 billion euros ($7.4 billion) from a month earlier to 1.14 trillion euros, the Bank of Spain said on Friday.
Debt as a ratio of gross domestic product was 99.39 percent according to Reuters calculations using the most recent National Statistics Institute (INE) growth data from the end of September 2016 to the end of September 2017.
That compared to a calculated debt-to-GDP ratio of 99.23 percent in November.
