Pre-symposium activities are at their height with workshops and highly skilled courses taking place at Liaquat National Hospital and main symposium will be inaugurated on Friday. A 2-day intensive Cadaveric Total Knee and Total Hip Arthroplasty Course was conducted by Dept. of Orthopaedics LNH supervised by the eminent faculty Professor Shahid Noor , Dr Zaki Idrees and Dr Intekhab Taufiq.
This was the first time in the history of the course that international faculty, eminent joint replacement surgeon from Belgium, Professor Phillipe Van Overschelde, also participated as course faculty in collaboration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, Pakistan Arthroplasty Forum and Pakistan Orthopaedic Association.
The main objective of the course was to train orthopaedic surgeons around the country. Live surgery demonstrations in the form of three Knee replacement surgeries provided the participants of the course with excellent overview of practical aspects of joint replacement surgery and problems encountered.-PR
