We are to make our cities as the best developed cities of the world like Seoul, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur in the next five years and for that we have to own our country by empowering our masses. This was stated by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Dr Farooq Sattar while inaugurating the tallest building of the country Ocean Towers here on Saturday.
He said Karachi is the 12th fastest growing cities of the world according to World Economic Forum. This was made possible by dint of enabling the people of this city to show the versatility of Karachi to the world, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
He said Karachi contributes 60% to the national economy due to its industry and ownership that means flyovers, bridges. And under passes, etc and if we need to have sustainable growth in the long run we have to own our country.
Tariq Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of Siddiqsons Group and Tripple Tree Associates, in his address said that total investment of Rs seven billion was made possible for the country to have its tallest skyscraper, which also has a huge shopping center The Mall for the people.
The building was initially designed to house an international chain of hotel but due to law and order situation the plans were changed but the local consortium, having full faith in the country's progress, continued with the project with its own financial resources.-PR
