LONDON: Yields on two, five, 10 and 20-year British government bonds briefly hit their highest levels since Dec. 8 on Wednesday as investors sold government bonds broadly.
The yield on 10-year British gilts touched a high of 1.306 percent, an increase of about 2 basis points, before falling back to show little change on the day.
US long-dated Treasury yields hit fresh 10-month highs on Wednesday with traders citing a report by Bloomberg that Chinese officials had recommended slowing or halting purchases of US government bonds.
