Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) in collaboration with Italian Pakistan Business Association (IPBA) is leading a delegation of businessmen from various chambers of commerce and industry (CC&Is) in Punjab, comprising Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad and Multan to Italy from October 24-28, 2011.
In this context, Italian ambassador to Pakistan, Vincenzo Prati visited PBIT office and held talks with the member delegates and discussed various aspects of their outreach strategy with the PBIT team. The burgeoning Italian interest in Punjab was reflected by the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Prati said the meetings would help establish a number of good contacts between the Pakistani and Italian institutions, while granting at the same time opportunities for those companies of both countries willing to expand their business aboard". During this meeting, it was transpired that the Italian Ambassador attaches great importance to this modest beginning and said that he himself has written a letter to president Milan Chamber and requested PBIT to write a letter to the chamber in continuation of it.
Furthermore, the Italian ambassador said that during his meeting with Punjab chief minister, he had invited him for a visit to Italy with business delegation, thus PBIT should utilise this opportunity to do groundwork for the CM visit. PBIT initiative is aligned with Punjab Government's outlook to reach out and help smaller chambers/businesses and districts and put them visibly on the overall economic map.
